Belarusian Potash Company Signs Supply Agreement with Yara for 5 Million Tonnes of Potash

Belarusian Potash Company (BPC, joint venture trader of Uralkali and Belaruskali, and the world leader in export sales of potash fertilizer) has entered into a long-term agreement with Norway-based Yara for the supply of potash. Under the contract, BPC will supply Yara with more than 1 million tonnes of potash fertilizers per year from 2011 until 2015. The price of potash supplied to Yara will be calculated according to a combination of market indicators.

The long-term contract with Yara, the number one global supplier of mineral fertilizers, is one of the largest in the potash industry’s history. The scope of the contract demonstrates that the global potash market is recovering and that the demand for potash continues to grow.
