The open town championship in street basketball “Baskets Street-2013" which was attended by 67 professional and amateur teams was held in Berezniki. The competition was part of the project of the company Uralkali for development of basketball as a mass sport.

In addition to the tournament program an entertainment and educational program was also organized for the guests: two Serbian coaches Zoran Dozic and Michael Popovic taught teenagers throwing the ball into the basket and explained the rules of the game. Between competitions the guests watched jump show UG, bike trials and rap performance. The exhibition match featured athletes and members of the City Council – Andrey Kriktunov and Vladimir Zhuldybin, deputy chairman of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sport Valery Mymrin and CEO of the sales network Yarmarka in Berezniki Vyacheslav Gorshkov.

Andrey Sheiko, world-class athlete, champion of Russia, champion of the North European League, a frequent participant of All-Star games:

For me, basketball is the best sport, it's my life. And I am very pleased that the company Uralkali provides such support to basketball. Our children are trained by world-class coaches from Serbia. I want to thank the company Uralkali for the implementation of such an ambitious project, and to wish good luck to the participants of today's competitions. Let the best man win!

“This is an excellent project,” coachMichael Popovic shared his opinion apologizing for his imperfect Russian language. “Let as many young people as possible do sports and keep a healthy lifestyle. Here in Serbia, too, there are similar projects. Healthy children today mean a healthy nation tomorrow.”

At the end winners of the championship met active players and participants of the Championship and Cup of Russia among men's teams playing in the Premier league – the team Parma.
