During the practical stage the commission assessed skills of the participants on the following criteria:

  • The level of gas pressure in the borehole,
  • The time and amount of sink working,
  • Delivery of ore using a self-propelled car from the machine to unloading,
  • Unloading the self-propelled car on the conveyor,
  • Hauling the car to the combined machine for loading,
  • Compliance with the rules of occupational health and safety.

The second stage had the form of examination with test papers. To win the contest miners had to combine high production performance with theoretical knowledge in the field of mining, health and safety.
