Uralkali Joines Worldwide Pink Ribbon Campaign

Uralkali Joines Worldwide Pink Ribbon Campaign

Employees of Uralkali created a “living pink ribbon” in support of the campaign against breast cancer. About 300 female potash workers from Berezniki and Solikamsk took part in the campaign.

The purpose of the Pink Ribbon campaign is to inform people about breast cancer, the methods of diagnosing the disease, as well as about various methods of treatment and rehabilitation. As part of the campaign, staff members attended educational lectures aimed at raising awareness of breast cancer among women, and were trained in the basics of self-examination. Qualified experts from Uralkali-Med Company explained the urgency of the problem, the risk factors that lead to the disease, methods of early diagnosis and the need to pay greater attention to health.

The campaign ended with a flash mob: female workers of Uralkali in pink T-shirts created a living pink ribbon.

Elena Ushakova, head of Uralkali corporate communications:

Such initiatives are very important, because they attract attention not only to women’s health, but also to the problems of early diagnosis of breast cancer. We believe that one day the diagnosis ‘cancer’ will not be tantamount to a death sentence, and modern diagnostic technologies will be able to resist the disease and help doctors and scientists to significantly improve the quality of medical care. Try to see your doctor regularly, pay attention to your physical condition and exclude risk factors. Take care of yourself, be healthy.
