Perm Region Acting Governor Dmitry Makhonin visits Uralkali


On3March, Dmitry Makhonin, the Acting Governor ofPerm Region, began aworking visit toUralkali, where hewas shown how potash isproduced and discussed the Companys development prospects with Uralkali management.

Aspart ofthe visit, hewas given atour ofthe Berezniki-4 mine byUralkalis CEO, Dmitry Osipov. Mr.Makhonin witnessed the operation ofaheading machine aspart ofthe Ural-20R roadheader, aconveyor hopper and aself-propelled car, aswell asviewing the worlds largest underground potash ore storage. Atadepth of400metres, the Acting Governor talked with miners, cutting machine operators and adriver ofone ofUralkalis self-propelled cars.

Inaddition, during the Acting Governors visit toBerezniki, Dmitry Osipov will present areport onUralkalis industrial cooperation inprocurement atameeting ofdirectors ofindustrial companies.

Dmitry Makhonin, Acting Governor ofthe Perm region, commented:

Uralkali isakey partner tothe Perm Region. The Company contributes significantly tothe development ofsocial infrastructure, including the creation ofnew jobs. When delivering large projects, itisimportant topreserve resources, especially human resources. The success ofany large manufacturing business isdependent onits workforce; therefore, itisvital tocreate comfortable conditions for employees and their families.

Dmitry Osipov, Uralkali CEO, commented:

We discussed Uralkalis current initiatives and our investment plans with the head ofthe Perm Region. Uralkali has already signed special investment contracts with regional and federal authorities amounting toatotal ofaround RUB 200billion. Weexpect the delivery ofthese projects tocreate over 2,000 new jobs.

Our goal istomaintain aleading position inthe industry. Asone ofthe largest employers inthe region, wewelcome the support provided bythe regional Government todevelop industrial production and realise the economic potential ofthe Perm Region.
