15.04.2021

Uralkali will be the general partner of the Perm Engineering and Industrial Forum (PEIF), to be held on 15-16 April 2021 in Perm.

On 15 April, the forum hosted an enlarged meeting for the directors of industrial companies based in Perm Region, chaired by Dmitry Makhonin, governor of the region. Vitaly Lauk, Uralkali CEO, was a member of this meeting, and met with Robert Urazov, Director General of the Professional Skills Development Agency (Worldskills Russia).

Robert Urazov, Director General of the Professional Skills Development Agency (Worldskills Russia), commented:

Uralkali is a leading business in the Russian industrial sector, and a leader in the personnel training area. We are grateful to companies like Uralkali that a new perspective of professionals is being formed in Russia, work skills are being valued more, and blue-collar professions are gaining more prestige. The partnership between Uralkali and WorldSkills Russia, which began back in 2018, has a lot of upside potential in terms of improving productivity, providing practical training aligned with global best practices, and nurturing talent within the Company, thereby creating an effective platform for technological breakthroughs in Russia. Specialists at Uralkali also actively participate in both corporate and national competitions celebrating professional excellence. As a partnership we are always looking for new areas where we can foster cooperation, and this forum will help us identify and explore any promising avenues.

On the second day of the Perm Engineering and Industrial Forum, Uralkali will hold a Science and Technology Council meeting to discuss the implementation of the Company’s scientific and technical development priorities for 2021-2022. This will be in line with Uralkali’s roadmap for cooperation with the Perm Region industrial complex. Experts from Uralkali will discuss a number of issues related to the development of technologies in the potash industry with manufacturers and suppliers at the forum, as well as how these technologies can be applied at the Company, and they will visit the exhibits of other industrial businesses.

Evgeny Zybin, Uralkali Production Director, commented:

The Perm Engineering and Industrial Forum has become a widely respected platform for constructive cooperation among representatives of the business and science community and government executive bodies. The forum enables participants to share their views on various aspects of industrial collaboration, discuss key issues and challenges in industry and share best practices for implementing major industrial projects. I am confident that the specific initiatives developed over the course of various strategic sessions and discussion panels will be instrumental to the future economic development of the region where Uralkali operates.
