Uralkali Signs a Collective Bargaining Agreement for 2021-2023

20.10.2020

Uralkali announces that Dmitry Osipov, CEO of the Company, Irina Kolesnik and Pavel Kuzmin, the chairs of two trade unions representing employees at Uralkali, have today signed a new three-year collective bargaining agreement. The scope of the agreement covers employees and the Company veterans, with certain benefits also applying to the family members of employees.

Under the new collective bargaining agreement, the benefits that were most in-demand among employees have been extended, and healthcare services provided under mandatory and voluntary medical insurance agreements remain valid. Employees receive reimbursements of up to 70% of their meal expenses in corporate canteens and cafeterias, and free shuttle services to and from work in Berezniki and Solikamsk will continue operating.

The Company will continue to provide wellness programs for its employees at health resorts, and summer vacation programs have also been set up for the children of employees at the “Ural Gems” recreation center owned by Uralkali, as well as at various Black Sea resorts.

The Company will continue to implement its housing scheme, aimed at improving employee living conditions and attracting and retaining specialists in highly sought-after careers. The scheme provides compensation for interest paid on mortgage loans; the Company is also currently building 8 apartment blocks in Berezniki and Solikamsk.

Uralkali continues to support and develop social and sporting infrastructure projects, including at the Company’s health resort, children’s camp, the “Kaliets” sports and snowsports center, the “Dolphin” swimming pool, and Uralkali’s recreation center. In addition, the Company reimburses employees’ sports and fitness expenses, including equipment hire.

Every year, Uralkali reviews all of its employee salaries against indexes, provides financial aid to the Company veterans under the “Attention and Care” program, and offers attractive benefits to its employees.

To promote safe working practices, and ensure that employees can work in an accident and injury free environment, Uralkali and its trade unions have also signed a special agreement for collaboration in the area of work health and safety under the collective bargaining agreement.

Dmitry Osipov, Uralkali CEO, commented:

Uralkali offers its employees a comprehensive benefits package that goes well beyond legal requirements. The implementation of our own social policy standards is a key element of the support we provide for our employees and their family members, cementing Uralkali’s position as one of the most attractive employers in the Perm Region.

Pavel Kuzmin, Chairman of the Silvinit Trade Union, commented:

The collective bargaining agreement, which was guided by the principles of social partnership, serves as a guarantee of social support for employees and their family members. The new document has preserved the full framework of the benefits that we have seen to be most effective and sought-after among employees. It comes as no surprise that other companies in Verkhnekamye model their own collective agreements on ours. Another important item addressed in the agreement is the confirmation of the obligations of both parties to strictly adhere to workplace and industrial safety rules.

Irina Kolesnik, Chairwoman of the Uralkali Trade Union, commented:

The signing of the collective bargaining agreement for the next three years is a significant event for the entire Uralkali team. The document will be an effective tool for regulating labor relations at Uralkali and ensuring adequate social support for its employees.
