Uralkali celebrated International Volunteer Day

On International Volunteer Day on December 5, organizers and participants of the events Green Contour, Children's Joy and Warm Autumn met at a gala evening to share experiences and plans for the future, and to recognize the most active supporters.

On behalf of the Company, Production Director of OJSC Uralkali Boris Serebrennikov and Head of the Environmental Protection Julia Mandziy thanked all participants of the events.

We are grateful to you for the wonderful ideas and volunteer events, for understanding the importance of this work, for your sincere desire to help others! I sincerely hope that your friends and colleagues share your beliefs and support them. Together we can multiply our achievements!

The environmental movement originated in the Company 4 years ago and has already gained many supporters who regularly take part in activist campaigns.

To date, the environmental movement unites Uralkali workers of all ages. We aim to provide participants with an opportunity not only to participate in such events, but also to learn to organize similar events by themselves. We also actively engage the younger generation so that they learn to value nature and learn from our experience how to care for it.

Two new areas of volunteerism are Children's Joy and Warm Autumn that originated this year. In course of the event Warm Autumn potash workers rendered air at the board and care facility in Berezniki. Children's Joy helped to arrange sandboxes on the playground of Solikamsk orphanage; the children were also given play sets.

Our movement is focused on support of the children from Solikamsk orphanage. When we first saw the eyes of these children, we realized how much they need our fellowship, care and affection. After the first trip, we understood that we could not leave them alone and began to visit the children regularly. We bring along games, coloring books, walk with the kids and try to give them the warmth that every child needs to be happy.

Health, safety and environment are key priorities for us and serve as a framework for every action and decision we make, irrespective of the type of activity.

We fully realise that no achievement or economic benefit may justify death of people or damage to human health and the environment of our planet. Each and every employee of OJSC Uralkali has the right to be provided with safe and comfortable conditions of labour.
