Uralkali supported the commissioning of new medical equipment at the Vagner Hospital

The Vagner Regional Hospital in Berezniki (Perm Region, Russia) has commissioned a new mobile digital X-ray machine. The commissioning of this cutting-edge medical equipment was funded by Uralkali, coming to an amount of RUB 9 mln.

The new X-ray machine is an essential tool for a variety of medical departments: it is used in surgery, orthopaedics, paediatrics, trauma, and urological functions, among other uses. The unit is light and compact, making it easy to transport around the hospital. The digital technologies incorporated in the machine and its smart design facilitate complex projections, and the machine is also configured to provide various diagnostics of patients.

Irina Konstantinova, Uralkali HR Director, commented:

Uralkali has a number of programmes in place to support the areas where it operates, including the social projects we run in Berezniki and Solikamsk. We recently signed a cooperation agreement with the Vagner Hospital in Berezniki to improve standards of healthcare for residents living in the Verkhnekamye area. As part of this agreement, Uralkali donated over RUB 33.5 mln from 2019-2029 towards purchasing new medical equipment for healthcare facilities in the region.

Roman Konev, Chief Medical Officer of the Vagner Regional Hospital, commented:

This new medical equipment represents another step forward in developing our regional healthcare system, and will ensure that proper care is available to local communities. Uralkaliís support is crucial in achieving this, and we are very grateful for their help.

In 2020, Uralkali donated over RUB 19 mln to medical institutions in Berezniki. The funds were used to supply artificial lung ventilators, 11 special displays for ventilation units, and a water conditioning system for a kidney machine. The artificial lung ventilation equipment is used in the prevention, diagnostics and treatment of coronavirus and was recommended by the Russian Ministry of Health. Other healthcare contributions by the Company in 2020 include the financing of purchases of equipment for a laboratory doing PCR tests and supplying medical masks etc.
